The Significance of a Smile

I am a Philadelphia native & a natural man who has been a smiler for life, and like all others, you never know what's behind the smile.

My smile is one of contentment, resolve and survival, because I've been thru a lot in my life

I met my wife in high school & got married in 1975 after graduating in 1974. We were hapily married for almost 34 years until the Lord took my Wilma home after a long battle with breast cancer which became cancer of the brain in 2009. I am the father of our 3 grown children (2 daughters & 1 son, all in their 30s) and our teenage son!  All our children are musicians & gifted in their specialties, and I'm very proud of them all!

I spent 10 years on active duty in the US Air Force in three different specialties at bases in Texas, Colorado, New York, Louisianna, Georgia & Egypt, before departing to return home to Philadelphia.  While active, I earn a degree in Audio-Visual Production.

I am a school police officer in the intercity public school system of Philadelphia, and hopefully in a year, I'll be retiring after 20+ years with the district to return to college & finish what I started many years ago & get my PhD.  It's been a long road, but the road continues...! 

I've also been a licensed minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ since 1995, and have worked in many areas of ministry, including Family, Premarital & Marital Counseling.

I've had many challenges in my life (one was preaching my father's eulogy in 2005), and I'm now taking the next challenge the Lord has lead me to in writing & publishing books: I'm currently working on my first. Please, keep me in prayers!
